Amritha’s worldly and unique voice developed out of her exploration of diverse musical styles. Trained from a young age in western classical piano and violin, Amritha’s broad interests eventually drew her to India, where she studied carnatic violin.

This education not only solidified her profound respect for both Indian and western classical music, it also deepened her desire to explore other musical genres. As a film composer, she has been privileged to work under the mentorship of Mychael Danna and later collaborate with Mychael on Deepa Mehta’s Heaven on Earth, Najwa Najjar’s Pomegranates & Myrrh and Dilip Mehta’s Cooking With Stella.
